The Village of Avoca lies in the Wisconsin River Valley in the area known as the Driftless Area. This part of Wisconsin is un-glaciated, being spared by the last great ice age that covered the rest of the state 10,000 years ago. The melting glacier formed the river valley, which is over 2 miles wide at Avoca. The valley is surrounded by steep wooded hills with deep valleys that are filled with wildlife and offer many scenic vistas.

This park consists of 700 wooded acres surrounding the beautiful 84-acre Glen Lake. Camping season runs from May 1 - Oct 31. Campsite reservations available. Although the campground closes on October 31 each year, the day-use area remains open to winter enthusiasts. Winter activities include ice fishing and skating on Glen Lake, snowmobiling, sledding and cross-country skiing.
